INTERNNECT is a multi-school and district activity where teams of students from various schools compete as they learn life skills while interacting directly with professionals from across the career spectrum.
Tulare-Kings Linked Learning Consortium is a group of educators, community members, and agents of change working together to transform the student experience across the Tulare and Kings school districts.
Night at the 21st Century Museum is a showcase of student projects from across the Visalia schools and from all grade levels. The students themselves set up this 21st century museum and run it, turning it into a project itself. The students who worked on the projects are also present in order to explain their projects to the public.
pblCORE: Project Based Learning is a modern way to teach students different subjects by creating a project in which the students work on it from multiple angles within multiple different subjects. This video will introduce you to what Project Based Learning entails.
“You Make Me Ill” is a Project Based Learning activity in which students learn about infectious diseases and how to prevent them while promoting healthy living. This project combines the Health, English, and Science classes for the students, all working on different aspects of the project.
GameQore is a Project Based Learning project in which elementary students learn about the impact of the California Mission system through the creation of their very own board game. The concept of the project was created by the owner of GameQore, a local business on Main Street in Visalia that sells various games, specifically board games.
This video showcases Kings River Elementary students and their skit in which they tell the story of Cesar Chavez and other civil and farm worker’s right activists from that time.

The Medical Academy at Dinuba High School will focus on teaching students important skills and create a foundation for the medical field.
The Construction and Engineering Academy is dedicated to giving students a foundation for going into the construction or engineering career fields.
Orosi High School Linked Learning Academies
The Academy of Sustainable Agriculture with expose students to careers in environmental science, animal science, emerging agriculture technologies and sustainable resources.
The Academy of Health Sciences will allow students to explore health science careers and technologies.
The Academy of Engineering and Green Technology will focus on giving students the knowledge of a variety of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills.
Visalia Charter Independent Study (VCIS)
Visalia Charter Independent Study (VCIS) is a high school with an interesting new take on independent study. According to Principal Mrs. Rocha, the key is their blended learning approach, supporting the flexible schedule of independent study with classroom learning in certain subjects. However, the classes meet only once or twice per week, providing more of a college atmosphere to the school. Master teachers that meet with each student once per week are another essential component to the students’ success.
Technical Early College (VTEC)
Visalia Technical Early College, better known as VTEC, is a new high school in Visalia, CA. They also have a new approach to teaching the students: Project-Based Learning.
Everything in life is a project, so what better way to learn core and elective subjects, than through interesting, hands-on projects. VTEC has a dedicated principal and staff that excel at this.
